Overview
Whether you work using a keyboard or welding torch, this award is to help you get started as a producer. Any graduating high school senior of a school in St. Clair County, Alabama is eligible.
To apply, simply introduce yourself and answer the following seven questions. Give them some thought.
Your effort will show in your answers. Reciprocity is real. Be honest. :)
Submissions can be in written/typed form, video or audio.
No matter how you submit them, quality still counts!

What are you thankful for?
Describe the most challenging work that you have done…and plan to do.
Describe a time when you voluntarily took on more responsibility.
How have you been a good steward of what you have?
How would you spend this award to help you be more productive?
Where does your drive to succeed come from?
Tips for Submitting
If you type/write your answers:
Write/type the question with the answer.
PDF is a good choice for file format, but not required.
If you choose audio or video format:
Test/edit your content before uploading.
Be clear about the question you are answering.
When you upload a file, there is a 100 MB size limitation.
If your video file is larger than 100 MB, consider uploading to YouTube as unlisted and submit a document with a link to the video using the application form.
Or edit the video to reduce the size.
Show/tell problems you have solved and work you have done.
After school and summer jobs are good to highlight.
Be specific.
If you've built something or solved a unique problem, tell us about it.
If you experience technical difficulties, try using the Chrome web browser and log in with your Google ID. (Gmail account)
Grindstone Scholar Award Application is open for submission from March 1 - April 1.
If no candidate presents the level of excellence required to be a Grindstone Scholar, no one will receive the Award.
